PROJECT 2: the NEON INDIAN.

Project 2, the neon indian, futuristic indian, call it what you want, is almost finished. A bit different from what I was planning to do but it's getting me pretty proud of myself :) Tie & dye was done because I wanted to bring back the neon. Green because it was nice and flashy, like lights in night clubs.

I still have to put a zipper in it (s.o.s., that's a horror to do), and the edge under needs some fringes..

So I'm not done yet, but what do you think about it?
PROJECT 2: NEON INDIANS (future indian empire)

Global Nomads, our current project in class, was splitted in different countries, I picked America. Been there, like 8 times already, have some really nice family over there. Anyway, I was inspired by indians and wanted to pick the cliché ''Pocahontas'', and turn it into a modern fairytale. Imagine Pocahontas in a nightclub or something, with flashy lights and stuff. That's what I wanted, and I went on the internet for some inspiration for the design. After I've made the design and the patterns, and the dress itself, I found something interesting on www.ilovefashionnews.com . A whole brand, inspired by Aztec indians. Wow, feeling really trend following right now :) Check http://www.threadsence.com/shop-trends-shop-aztec-c-323_311.html for all items & shopping.
Project 1: THE GLUE PROJECT

photographer: Sandra Voogt-Eysbroek
design & model: Abigail Eijsbroek (me).

This project was based on ecologic use of materials, and inspired by the Dead Sea. I would recommend everyone to go to Israël, because the country itself is so inspiring. The Dead Sea is a sort of spa, very salty. That's why I used salt in my design. The edgyness on the shoulder is based on the shape of the salt plains near the Dead Sea.

* This one is very special for me, because it's like my first design, ever.
